Ameture Photography - 1

As said by JRR Tolkein, Not Everyone Who Wanders Is Lost.
I think travelling is the best way to explore, not only places but yourself too.Along with developing ones personality,it gives a different perspective of knowing different facets of life.
In the recent months I travelled a lot, both for work and lesuire. Here are some snaps that I took while roaming around and found worth putting here.

"Is India really like that .... "

I was going from Detroit to Auburn Hills and had this African American cab driver who was telling me all about the rise and fall of Detroit, and how the auto giants collapsed leading the city to a dark pit of unemployment
and crime. He was telling me how people left to look for better jobs in other parts of the country.
Then he asked me about the effect of slowdown in India and how things were there.I told him that things are bad,but not as bad as here in the US.Then the questions started :
"How do ya guys manage to live in small huts man..." "Do kids really jump in shit...dude tha' was really amusing".
Now I clearly understood why people out here love movies like 'Slumdog Millionaire'.
I thought that it would be of no use to make him understand the difference between a movie and reality and that movies show only a aspect of real world.I asked him just one simple question,
" According to you, which is a better life,a life full of comforts, privileges or a life where you might not have all the comforts ,but you still have all the happiness, peace and self fulfilment that you need ?"
He agreed that off-course,being happy is the most important thing in life."But how can people be happy,if they don' have all the comforts dude?" So I finally got my chance
"Here people have everything, but have no peace,no fulfilment, they need more, they live their lives on credit cards and this is the reason why US is in crisis today, all greed. In India people might be living in small huts,
but they are actually happier than most of the people in US."
"And this is the difference buddy".

Cigarette....

Dedicated to all my smoker friends, specially to Nayak...

kashon ki kashish me zindagi yu nikalti rahi,
ki uss saye ko bhi dhuyen me sama liya,
Bohot zaa'e ki meri neendo ko un akhon ne,
har kash ne un yaadon ka nasha hi mita diya,

Tanhaiyon ke safar me aie habiib
tu hi to ek hamsafar tha,
Har zakhm ko sehta gaya mein haskar,
wo tere us dhuyen ka hi to asar tha,

Is be-iman zamane ka kya hai,
hurdum tujhe badnaam karta hai,
Idhar shama ko pak kehta hai,
udhar tujhpe Ilzam ghadta hai.

arsh ke farishton ke aksar
yahi hashra hote hain,
Jahaan bhar ko karb se aazad kar
Khud hi sulag kar khak hote hain ,

Khwahishon ke silsile...

Ummeedon ne bhi na jane,
kitne hi kafan siye hain..
lahoo ke samandar me lipte,
lashon ke ye silsile hain..

Falak ki khwahishon ko samete,
Ehsaason ko yun kuchalte rahe..
Roshan Khwabon ke firaq me,
sage dilon ko todte rahe..

Na jane kis ghumani me the ,
Ulwi isharon se mukh modte rahe..
Manzilen to samne thi lekin,
Tasveeron me unhe dhundte rahe..

Zindgi ki jung me padkar,
is tarah mashroof ho gaye..
maziin chahton ke saye bhi,
kinhi andheron me kho gaye..

Firaq=Expectation
Ghumani=Arrogance

A restroom with mirror

A mirror in a College restroom ( Boys) is a rare thing, and it was even rarer in our college. There was one sole mirror in the ground floor boy's rest room, and trust me,that restroom can write thousand stories.Stories which have all the emotions of a human mind, from love to hate to anxiety.
That restroom was a pilgrimage for every guy in the college,a must visit before the start of the day and after the day ends.Even people from third floor used to come all the way down just for that restroom,or on their way to the canteen.
It has seen people standing there in front of the mirror for hrs. trying to get a perfect look to impress "Her".It has seen people crying and washing there face when their heart got broken or they got a ATKT in exam.It has seen the nostalgia of that last day, when people are queued to get their tie knots right, with a tear in their eye.
"Budding romances",when a guy used to come in front of mirror after every ten minutes just to see if his hair is rightly set,or if his face is not having any mark.
During Exams it used to perfectly capture all the anxiety and during the sports week,it was a place where war strategies were made.
Its walls had numerous things written on it,from love confessions to abuses.Things which the tongue refused to say in front were captured in that "Canvas".

My sincere tribute goes to that historical place, for being such an integral part of every male students life.

Politicians divide the nation,terrorists unite.

Why do we always need a sacrifice to bring revolution ? We always need Bhagat Singh,Hemant Karkare or Major Sandip unnikrishnan to sacrifice their lives, just because we are sleeping.
Few decades back,it was the Britishers, who were trying to divide the nation,so that they can rule. Now we have politicians who are doing the same thing. But at least the British
were loyal to their own country.
But here we have a moron who beat up his own country men just because they are from some other part of the nation, and because of poverty migrated to earn their livings.
He claimed that he can lay his life for the people of his state, and when the time came,he was nowhere to be seen.
Instead the NSG commando who laid his life turned out to be from the Bihar regiment.
So for the time it seems that the interstate fire has doused and people are looking united as one country, determined to fight terror.Only the time will tell for how long this would continue.
